Terms: LDM and IDD

• LDM: Local Data Manager
  • Software that runs at a site

  • Receives data from upstream feeds

  • Distributes data to downstream sites

  • Manages data a local site

• IDD: Internet Data Distribution Network
  • Entire network of sites using the LDM to recieve data streams supported by Unidata

  • Has several topologies, i.e., configurations

  • A virtual network on top of the Internet
